2025 Grant Impact Story - Building Belonging Through Youth Leadership

2025 Grant Impact Story - Building Belonging Through Youth Leadership

Thursday Jul 23, 2026
Every young person deserves to feel seen, valued, and connected to their community. At Foundry Quesnel, youth and families play an important role in shaping programs and creating a welcoming environment for others.

Thanks to a grant from the Quesnel Community Foundation, Foundry Quesnel created custom apparel for its Youth and Family Advisory Committee. Featuring artwork Jaelynn Gillman, the custom apparel recognizes the young people and families who dedicate their time and energy to helping build Foundry in Quesnel.

For the Youth and Family Advisory Committee, the apparel is more than a hoodie. It represents belonging and a shared identity while recognizing the contributions of the volunteers who help make Foundry a welcoming place for youth and families.

An unexpected outcome came through a simple conversation. While sharing information about Foundry’s programs with friends, an Advisory Committee member inspired a community member to make a $500 donation to Foundry Quesnel; a reminder that sharing stories can inspire others to support important work in our community.

Jenna Magee shared:
“Foundry Quesnel is so grateful to the Quesnel Community Foundation for their generous donation. Being able to publicly acknowledge our young people and families who are giving so much time and energy to help establish Foundry in Quesnel has been incredible. We are so grateful for our entire community, and for the Quesnel Community Foundation for seeing our potential and helping us grow!”

Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Quesnel Community Foundation is proud to invest in opportunities that empower young people, strengthen community connections, and help organizations like Foundry Quesnel continue to grow.
2025 Grant Impact Story - Singing with Confidence

2025 Grant Impact Story - Singing with Confidence

Tuesday Jul 21, 2026
Singing has the power to bring people together, creating moments of joy and connection. For the Q City Singers, every rehearsal and performance is an opportunity to share that gift with audiences.

Thanks to a grant from the Quesnel Community Foundation, the choir has installed removable safety railings on its performance risers, creating a safer environment for members during rehearsals and performances.

More than a practical improvement, the new railings give choir members added confidence while performing. With improved safety on stage, singers can focus on what they do best - performing together and sharing the joy of singing with audiences.

Siggi Stoldt shared:
“Thanks to the Quesnel Community Foundation our choir has been able to improve the safety and well-being of all our choir members during dress rehearsals and performances.”

By investing in projects that enhance the safety and well-being of volunteers, the Quesnel Community Foundation helps local organizations continue enriching our community through song.
2025 Grant Impact Story - Supporting Compassionate Animal Care at the BC SPCA Quesnel Community Animal Centre

2025 Grant Impact Story - Supporting Compassionate Animal Care at the BC SPCA Quesnel Community Animal Centre

Friday Jul 17, 2026
All animals deserve a safe, comfortable place to begin their next chapter. Behind every adoption is a team of dedicated people working to provide compassionate care for animals in need.  Thanks to a grant from the Quesnel Community Foundation, the BC SPCA Quesnel Community Animal Centre completed upgrades to its dog kennels and isolation room, renewing the spaces where compassionate care takes place every day.
The grant funded a range of renovations, including repairs and replacements to kennel infrastructure, lighting, flooring, ventilation, doors, and the isolation room.  Together, this work strengthened key areas of the shelter, supporting the outstanding work of staff and volunteers while providing welcoming spaces for animals in the Quesnel community.  With the renovations complete, the shelter is well equipped to continue supporting animals on their journey to a forever home.
Beyond the physical improvements, an unexpected outcome of the project was an increased sense of ownership and engagement among shelter staff.  Their involvement throughout the project fostered collaboration and reinforced a shared commitment to caring for and maintaining the upgraded spaces.
Sophie Stoldt, BC SPCA Quesnel Community Animal Centre Manager, shared:
“All of us—staff, volunteers, and friends at the BC SPCA Quesnel Community Animal Centre—are deeply grateful to the Quesnel Community Foundation for your generosity and support. Your caring nature and generous grant made essential improvements to our dog areas possible. These upgrades have created safer, more comfortable spaces for our animals, and we’re thrilled to see tails wagging and happy paws all around!”
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Quesnel Community Foundation is proud to support projects that strengthen local organizations and create lasting, positive impacts throughout the Quesnel region.
2025 Grant Impact Story - Supporting School Spirit Through Sport

2025 Grant Impact Story - Supporting School Spirit Through Sport

Friday Jul 17, 2026
School sports create more than opportunities to be active. They help students build confidence, develop teamwork, and create lasting memories.
Thanks to a grant from the Quesnel Community Foundation, Bouchie Lake Elementary School purchased new volleyball stanchions, providing students with updated volleyball equipment for the school’s athletics program.
The project was completed smoothly and the greatest impact was the enthusiasm it inspired among the students.
Katie Kravtsov shared:
“I knew the kids were going to be happy about new gear, but they were SO happy and grateful and excited for the upcoming volleyball season! You helped make a lot of kids very happy!”
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Quesnel Community Foundation is proud to invest in opportunities that help young people learn, grow, and create connections that extend well beyond the classroom.  Together, these investments strengthen schools, build communities, and create brighter futures.
