About The Quesnel Community Foundation


Mission Statement:


The Quesnel Community Foundation, established in 2001, exists to meet the needs of our community through the growth and management of permanent endowment funds.

Our goal is to use the income generated to promote the well being of our community by providing grants to charitable organizations. We as responsible volunteers are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life within our community.

The Quesnel Community Foundation is a member of Community Foundations of Canada, and advised by one of North America's biggest and most successful foundations, the Vancouver Foundation.

The Quesnel Community Foundation believes:
  • We have both an opportunity and a responsibility to provide leadership in the spirit of giving
  • The endowment fund is a resource to benefit the people of Quesnel, and we commit to manage these funds in a responsible manner
  • In an open, respectful, and ethical approach towards all who come in contact with the Foundation
  • Our policies, programs and practises should enable and encourage human growth and dignity, inclusiveness, fairness and the equality of all people
  • In working as a link within the charitable sector to strengthen community capacity and volunteerism, and to find solutions to mutual challenges
  • In partnerships that seek consensus and respect the integrity and autonomy of participants.
  • In encouraging and nurturing pride in our community


The operating expenses of the Quesnel Community Foundation are met, in part, by start-up grants from the City of Quesnel, and by special fund raising events organized by the Foundation.

A major factor in making ends meet, however, is the generous in-kind contributions made from a number of community-minded businesses and individuals. Without this kind assistance and support, the Foundation would not have achieved its current success. Some continue to contribute well above-and-beyond our expectations. For this, we wish to express our deepest appreciation. You are truly "Friends of the Foundation".
