The Best Fit for Your Donation
The following types of funds offer a wide selection of donation opportunities. Whether you wish to establish your own fund or support one of the Foundation’s existing funds, you will be joining many other donors who have a desire to make a difference in our community – forever! Funds in any of the following categories may be named and are suitable for individuals, families, memorials, organizations, or businesses.
Community Fund
The income from this fund is provided to local organizations at the discretion of the Foundation’s Grants Committee. This fund is an ideal way for individuals, groups and businesses to make a difference in our community. All gifts large or small are welcome.
Designated Funds
These funds allow donors to direct annual income to specific charitable organizations named when the fund is established. This type of fund may be suitable for individuals or businesses that have a specific field of interest they wish to support in perpetuity.
Agency Funds
This is a type of designated fund established by charitable organizations to ensure a continual source of annual income for their programs and operations.
Donor Advised Funds
These funds allow donors to be actively involved with the QCF in selecting recipient charitable organizations.
Scholarship/Bursary Fund
This fund allows donors to establish a scholarship in their name or in honour of someone else, helping deserving individuals receive education or training they may not otherwise obtain. This type of fund may be donor advised or discretionary.
Flow-Through Funds
This is a non-permanent fund which passes through the Foundation to qualified charitable organizations according to the donor’s wishes. This fund may be attractive to donors who wish the protection of anonymity for their philanthropic giving, an impartial third party to distribute their community gifts, or for those who are not registered charities but wish to provide tax receipts for donations.
